NHDC praises her extensive career as a courtroom prosecutor
Mineola, N.Y. – Today, the North Hempstead Democratic Party Executive Committee unanimously endorsed Madeline Singas for Nassau County District Attorney, praising her extensive career as a courtroom prosecutor and her proven record of putting violent criminals behind bars.
“Madeline Singas is a courtroom prosecutor, not a career politician,” said an NHDC spokesperson. “With 24 years experience locking up violent criminals, she’s uniquely qualified to safeguard our communities and ensure a fair and impartial justice system. The North Hempstead Democratic Committee stands united behind Madeline Singas and we are excited to help her win in November.”
“I am honored to stand alongside the North Hempstead Democrats, whose passion and dedication will be invaluable to winning this election,” said Singas. “They believe, as I do, that the Nassau County District Attorney must have a proven record of prosecuting dangerous criminals. I am grateful for their full support and I look forward to working with them in the months and years to come.”
Madeline Singas was sworn in as Acting District Attorney in January 2015, following the departure of Rep. Kathleen Rice, under whom she served as Chief Assistant since 2011. Singas began her career as a prosecutor in 1991 and has over two decades of courtroom experience. Since joining the Nassau County District Attorney’s office in 2006, she has successfully prosecuted some of the county’s most notorious violent criminals and served as Chief of Nassau County’s Special Victim’s Bureau. She is a graduate of Bronx Science, Columbia University, and Fordham University Law School.
The executive committee of the North Hempstead Democratic Party is a broad-based leadership group, consisting of over 25 key Democrats representing every community in the Town of North Hempstead, including Port Washington, Great Neck, Roslyn and Roslyn Heights, Westbury, Herricks, New Hyde Park, Floral Park, Carle Place, Mineola, Manhasset, the Willistons and Albertson.
